Train the AI on specific materials, ensuring your designs accurately reflect silk, denim, leather, or any custom textile

Introduction

We know how frustrating and time-consuming it can be when your designs don’t accurately represent the expected materials. With Fermat, you can train the AI on specific materials, ensuring your designs accurately reflect silk, denim, leather, or any custom textile. This article will walk you through the process of using visual material references to craft designs that perfectly align with your chosen material.

Step by step guide

To train an AI using Custom Styles that perfectly aligns with your chosen material, follow these steps:

Create a Custom Style

1

Accessing the Custom Styles Panel

  1. Open Fermat and navigate to the Custom Styles section.

  2. Click on "New Style" to begin the training process.

2

Upload visual references

Upload at least 5 close-up images that represent your material.

Make sure your visual references are in high quality. Avoid pixelated or low-resolution images that could affect the accuracy of the AI-generated designs. If your dataset contains less than 5 images, you can upload the same images again to meet the required amount.

To delete a specific visual reference, place the cursor over the image and press the "Delete" button.

3

Set your Custom Style

  • Enter a name that represents the style you're training.

  • Select the "Materials & Fabrics" option.

  • Write a short description that explains about your dataset. (e.g. Close up images of 'Ribbed knit').

4

Train the AI

Click the "Start training" button. The AI will process your visual references and create a Custom Style within approximately 10 minutes.

The training time for your new Custom Style may depend on the number and size of the visual references you have uploaded.

Use Custom Styles

1

Open the Custom Style

2

Enter your prompt

Provide a detailed text description of the design you want.

Example: A model wearing a light beige "Knit cotton" midi dress with a high turtleneck, standing in a minimalist environment. She has a natural and confident look with her arms crossed over her chest. Her long hair is styled in a natural, slightly tousled look. The background is neutral and soft, emphasizing the texture of the dress and her calm expression. The lighting is gentle and natural, giving the scene a fresh, relaxed vibe.

3

Customize the settings

Adjust parameters such as:

  • Aspect ratio: 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 5:4, 4:5

  • Influence of AI on the original dataset. This means that if the influence is 100%, AI will fully consider the dataset it was trained on.

4

(Optional) Upload a reference image

You can upload a reference image to restyle it using the unique DNA of your Custom Style.

5

Generate render

Click the 'Generate' button and let the AI process your inputs. In just a few seconds, your new design will be generated with the specified material applied.

View dataset

You can view your Custom Style's dataset by opening its own menu.

Delete Custom style

You can delete your Custom Style by selecting the "Delete" option in its own menu.

Examples

Here are some examples of how designers use Custom Styles in Fermat:

A stylish male model in a neutral beige "knit cotton" sweater with a high collar, standing confidently against a soft, minimalistic cream background. The model has a confident expression with his arms crossed, exuding a casual, yet refined look. The lighting is soft, highlighting the texture of the sweater and the subtle details of the stripes. The image should convey sophistication and elegance with a modern, fashion-forward vibe.

A female model wearing a bright fuchsia sleeveless "knit cotton" sweater with a high neck, standing in a minimalist setting. She has natural, effortless beauty with a serene expression, complemented by simple gold hoop earrings. The image has a soft, neutral background, highlighting her and the texture of the sweater. The lighting is warm and soft, adding to the elegant and modern vibe of the image.

A female model wearing a light grey "knit cotton" midi dress with a high turtleneck, standing in a minimalist environment. She has a natural and confident look with her arms crossed over her chest. Her long hair is styled in a natural, slightly tousled look. The background is neutral and soft, emphasizing the texture of the dress and her calm expression. The lighting is gentle and natural, giving the scene a fresh, relaxed vibe
